How to use Instagram to grow your sales

Take Great Photos

With Iphones and smartphones in general, it’s super easy to take great photos of your food and business. Use the hdr feature on your phone to make your photo really stand out.

Don’t rush this process, take your time to think about what you want the outcome to be and do not under any circumstance release a blurry photo onto social media. Remember in this new world of digital presence, what people see online is what they think of your business inside it’s 4 walls/

Use Hashtags

Use anywhere from 10 –20 relevant hashtags that are related to the post you publish. Quick tip- post your photo or video the test you want then after that add an additional comment with all your hashtags. This will allow you to add all the hashtags you want with the text looking nice and clean.

Tag Your Location

This is easy to do when you are about to post your video or photo. This will allow anyone in that location to see your post and find out where you are located.

Thank And Engage With The People Who Follow You

When someone follows, likes or comments on a post that you publish make sure you go and than them.

If it’s a like or a comment simply post another comment thanking them and make sure you tag them on that post, this will allow them to get a notification that you mentioned them. It’s a great way to get a conversation started.

I also send a direct message thanking each person that follows me just giving them a personal thank you.

Comment On Other Local Accounts

To grow your following with the local people in your area, search for local business that are near you. Just go to the search bar and type the name of the business and if they have an account it will appear.

Then follow them, like a few photos and add a comment. This will put you on there radar and may even get you a follow back.

Keep commenting and liking their photos even if they don’t follow you right away, it’s a great way to get to know what the locals are up to and who they are commenting and engaging with

Post Regularly

As I write this the Instagram’s algorithm is changing, remember that Facebook owns Instagram and you know how much different your Facebook feed is today compared to a few years back.

That being said it’s not the same, yet… So post regularly. I suggest posting twice a day and a good mixture between photos and videos.

Your followers are most likely customers and they want to get to know you, what you offer, so don’t just make it all your products. Show off yourself and your behind the scenes of your business. This will get them to know, like and trust you and when they think of ordering they’ll remember you for sure.

Re-post From Local Accounts (share for share)

To make your feed interesting curate content from local places around your area. Re-post anything that your audience will like or get use from. Make sure you give credit to the poster and tag them so they can get notified you shared their photo.

If you want another way is to reach out to local business and ask to trade photos, this is known as a share for share. They share one of your photos and you share one of theirs.

You can create many new relationships with local business and help each other to spread your messages to a larger audience.

Add a Call To Action In Every Post:

Use your text to ask your audience to do something. It could be something as simple as “double click if you agree” or ask them to click the link in your bio.

Remember that there’s only one clickable link on Instagram, the one in your bio. Change this link needed based on what you are posting.
